Hi, I’m Alex.
I started Skyline to buy one business and lead it for the long term. Over the past decade, I have worked closely with business owners and management teams on acquisitions, financing and operational matters, with a particular focus on small and medium-sized businesses in the Aerospace and Defense markets.
Before Skyline, I was an investor at Clairvest, a $4 billion private equity firm that partners with entrepreneur-led businesses. I helped lead its aerospace and defense investing efforts and managed transactions from initial conversations through due diligence, financing and closing. Alongside that work, I partnered with management teams on operational initiatives, including implementing business processes and supporting turnarounds. My investment experience spans engineering services, manufacturing and consumer businesses, having led or played a key role in over 11 acquisitions representing over $1 billion of enterprise value and securing nearly $1 billion of debt and equity co-investments.
Previously, I was a founding team member of a lower middle market private equity fund focused on small businesses in Canada and the United States. I began my career in corporate lending and investment banking, advising companies on acquisitions and debt and equity financing.
Today, I’m focused on bringing that experience to the day-to-day leadership of one business, working with its team to build on what its owner has created and providing a smooth transition for its owner, employees and customers.
I live in Toronto with my wife and daughter. As a family, we are open to relocating for the right opportunity.
